Duration: One year with possibility of extension based on Performance with three-month probationary period

The Sudan Energy Transition and Access Project (SETAP) is being prepared as the first step to catalyze Sudan’s energy transition and is designed to support the mitigation of the ongoing power crisis, while putting in place building blocks for universal electrification and transition to clean and low-cost energy. The proposed interventions subject to be finalized, include distribution loss reduction, energy efficiency interventions, rooftop solar, hybridization of existing isolated grids, off-grid electrification, upstream renewable energy development, and a package of technical assistance.
The role of Project Manager (PM): is to support and facilitate the effective implementation of the Sudan Energy Transition an Access Project (SETAP). The Project Manager will work within the PIU that is responsible for managing and coordinating power sector interventions within MoEP.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The PM will report to the Program Coordinator, which is under Steering Committee.
Contribute to the overall technical aspects of the SETAP components and activities, including planning, Implementation, follow up and monitoring of the contract effectiveness with respect to program guidelines, manuals, and standards.
Participate in the production or updating of the necessary manuals and guidelines, including the Project Operation Manual.
Prepare training documents, training plans and deliver trainings in priority areas.
Frequent field visit and follows up the project activities at all stages: pre-design stage, design stage, construction tendering stage, construction stage, completion, and handover stage.
Work closely with relevant PIU experts for procurement and contract management to carry out overall project management.
Provide periodic implementation reports to the project coordinator.
Ensure that all sub-project financed by the projects adhere to outlined environmental and social safeguards
Work closely with PIU environmental and social teams to ensure that screening and assessment procedures are in place and that technical staff are adequately trained in the established procedures.

Performs other related and relevant assignments.

The Project Manager shall have experience in design, construction supervision, assessment, analysis, and development of electricity services with tangible experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency and distributed generation. Specialist shall have MSc or above in electrical engineering or related fields with 10 years or above experience. The specialist shall have strong capability of communication on the subject matter, and capacity to oversee implementation and capacity building interventions. The PM must have strong written and oral skills in Arabic and English.
The specialist reports to the Project Coordinator.
Submits reports of the field visits, workshops, and meeting results (minutes) within agreed timeframe
Reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly project status

Duration of the Assignment: The assignment will be for one year with possibility of extension based on evaluation of performance

Deadline: 15th June 2021- At 22:00 PM (Sudan local time)
