Duty Station: State of Khartoum
Reporting to: Program Coordinator
Duration: One year with possibility of extension based on Performance with three-month probationary period


The senior M&E specialist will be fully engaged in: (i) performing M&E activities (ii) provide technical support to relevant projects staff.

Specific duties and responsibilities
The Senior M&E specialist will be accountable to the Integrated PIU Coordinator and will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

Support the implementation of the M&E systems for the projects.
Review existing M&E systems in place within SEHC and put in place recommendations for harmonization and use for project monitoring as well as the ministry’s processes
Provide analysis and recommendations for the PIU and other stakeholders based on the outputs of the ongoing M&E activities.
Work with other stakeholders to harmonize M&E systems for the sector.
Prepare consolidated reports in collaboration with Project Managers of each project
Complete the development of reporting format of the project
Participate in the project review mission, annual joint review missions and prepare reports and provide recommendations for project review.
Monitor progress of the project against the ‘Agreed Actions’ and identify challenges to achieving stated goals.
Monitor and support the process of compilation of annual plans and budgets for the project.
Other duties as assigned by the PIU.


MA or BA degree in economics, management, and project management or other related fields, with 10 years of relevant work experience for BA degree and 8 years of work experience for MA degree of which the candidate should have at least 5 years of working experience in electrical power related interventions. Experience in designing and implementing M&E tools and procedures (refining results framework,

preparing and customizing report formats, establishing Management information systems, etc. Fluency in Arabic and English language (spoken and written).


The M&E Specialist will be working with the other PMU staff and will be reporting to the PIU Coordinator and Project Managers who will be charged to ensure the adequate implementation of the M&E tasks.

Duration of the assignment

The contract is full time assignment and will be contracted for a period of one year with the understanding that the contract will be renewed yearly based on performance.
