NRC returned to Sudan in 2020, primarily to help over three million people affected by armed conflict and displacement in the country. We are currently establishing three area-based operations outside of Khartoum, including for South Sudanese refugees in White Nile state, conflict-affected communities in South Kordofan, and people in protracted states of internal displacement in the greater Darfur region. Moreover, we have a broad programme ambition to scale up an innovative approach to durable solutions and protection, operate in hard-to-reach areas of the country, and also offer a rapid response capacity.
Duties and responsibilities
We are recruiting an experienced Sudanese Logistics Manager with a strong ability to work in a team, take a strategic and solution-oriented approach, an aptitude for market analysis / response analysis to help inform programme decision-making and an interest in operations for our new country programme in Sudan.
This is an opportunity to lead the set-up of a new country office from all fronts: staff training, physical set up of the Area Offices, operation delivery and supervise NRC’s programme activities relating to Supply chain / logistics in the Country Office including the Area Offices. As member of the Country Management Group, you will provide overall leadership to the above Logistic function by ensuring that country set up comply with NRC policies, handbooks and donor/auditor requirements.
You have: Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Senior Logistician in a humanitarian/recovery context; a good knowledge of the context in Sudan and if possible, Darfur and South Kordofan regions; proven management experience of teams (including on capacity building) and experience with donor requirements and accountability related to procurement fields.
Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal is a requirement.

A competitive salary package at grade 9, as per NRC structure in line with the local market but in the spirit of the humanitarian work we do.
This stage being a start-up, contracts are initially issued for 12 months, with 25% field travels
